For years before his death, London’s October Gallery emerged as a committed advocate for Aubrey Williams’ work. This advocacy and commitment has continued in the decades following the Guyana-born artist’s death in 1990. Typical in this regard was this exhibition of Williams’ work, held at October Gallery 5 September - 5 October 2002.

This press release for the exhibition featured a small colour reproduction of Carib Ritual IV, acrylic on canvas, 104.5 x 119 cm. From the text, “The October Gallery has selected from the rich legacy of Williams’ works, an exhibition of rarely-seen works both on paper and canvas, dating mainly from the late Sixties, but with some surprising later works included as well. This special selection of Williams’ work is intended to provide fresh insight into the work of one of the last century’s great artistic spirits.”
