Jamaican artist Peter Wayne Lewis had a major exhibition of his lyrical, visually textured paintings at Kunsthaus Ostbayern, Viechtach, Germany, 17 July - 4 September 1992. The exhibition came with a substantial bilingual catalogue, with texts in German and English. From the introduction, Revisiting the 20th Century, by Frederick Spratt, of San Jose, California, “Presented in this exhibition are selections from his most recent works - most of which have been painted in Germany. These works are rich amalgams of European, African, and American sources: works which introduce a paradigm of multiculturalism into the ageless, deep-rooted art of painting.”
