One of the most substantial publications of Aubrey Williams’ work produced during his lifetime was Guyana Dreaming, a collection of extracts, short texts and images, all relating to Williams’ work, assembled by Anne Walmsley. Williams himself died just at the time that Guyana Dreaming was produced. Since Williams’ death, critical appreciation and general interest in his work has escalated markedly. The major retrospective of his work, curated by Andrew Dempsey, organised by inIVA and held at the Whitechapel Art Gallery, 12 June - 16 August 1998, was perhaps the first evidence of the substantial posthumous attention being paid to Williams. This attention included this substantial, detailed and comprehensive catalogue, which offered an authoritative overview of Williams’ work, life, and career.

The catalogue is extensively, exhaustively illutrated with reproductions of Williams work, spanning all periods of his career, as well as numerous archival photographs of Williams life and career.
