“Jeremy Akerman is an artist and curator. He studied Fine Art at Goldsmiths College, London and at Jan van Eyck Academy, Maastricht, The Netherlands. He is currently working on The Alpine Fantasy of Victor B and Other Stories, a compilation of short stories by contemporary artists, co-edited with Eileen Daly. The book is being published by Serpent’s Tail in November 2006.
Curatorial projects include: Life is Driven by the Desire for Pleasure, Chad McCail, The Fruitmarket Gallery, Edinburgh, Scotland and tour to Luxembourg and Geneva (2003); Because a Fire was in My Head, South London Gallery (2000); John, I’m Only Dancing, Margaret Harvey Gallery, St Albans (2000); and Pictures of Lily, Underwood Street Gallery, London (1997). “
He also wrote an entry for Donald Rodney’s 9 Night in Eldorado catalogue (1997). He also wrote part of the text on Virgina Nimarkoh for the Four x 4 catalogue (1991).
