The following biographical entry on Christopher Gonzalez appeared in the catalogue Ten Jamaican Sculptors, Commonwealth Institute Art Gallery London, September 4 - 28 1975: “Born Kingston, Jamaica 1943. Graduated Jamaica School of Art 1963. travel fellowship to Denmark 1965. resident artist Spellman (sic) College, Atlanta 1969. M.F.A. California College of Arts and Crafts 1972. Has taught at various colleges in California and is now lecturer in sculpture at the Jamaica School of Art. Has participated in several one-man and group exhibitions in Jamaica and the United States. Silver Musgrave Medal, 1974. Major commissions; Bust of George william Gordon - National Heroes Park; Bas reliefs for the tomb of N.W. Manley, National Heroes Park; is represented in many private collections in Jamaica and the United States. Lives and works in Kingston.”
