One of the artists in Contemporary African Art at Camden Arts Centre, London, 10 August - 8 September 1969. The artist’s biographical entry in the catalogue was “Jimo E Akolo, born in 1936, is a northern Yoruba. He studied at the Nigerian College of Art, Science and Technology, and has exhibited on a number oif occasions in Nigeria. A mural by him is in the Northern Region Houses of Parliament, Kaduna. In 1962 he studied at Hornsey College of Arts and Crafts. The following year he was awarded the President’s Prize for a Nigerian artist. In 1964 he had a one-man exhibition at the Commonwealth Institute, London.”
