Press release for Cataract, solo exhibition by Donald Rodney, Camerawork London, 13/2 - 6/3 [1991, though the year is not stated].

Uncredited monochrome reproduction of work by Donald Rodney, accompanying text and other details about the exhibition. Extracts as follows: “Cataract is a large-scale installation in 3 parts, using slide projections, back projected images and vinyl on x-rays. Rodney’s work explores the distortion of vision which presents a particular public image of black males in contemporary Britain, drawing on diverse sources from anthropological illustrations to medical photographs. In this exhibition, Rodney attempts to create a self-portrait - to wrest his image from clearly defined areas of mainstream political and social control. The black body becomes a site of struggle.”
