image of Jean-Michel Basquiat (Gagosian) fold-out

Small, attractive, square fold-out poster for major look at the painting output of Jean-Michel Basquiat, held at Gagosian Gallery, 555 West 24th Street, New York, NY 10011, Thursday February 7 - Saturday April 6 2013. Measuring 7 x 7 inches, when folded down, the mini-poster measured 14 x 14 inches when folded out. When folded down, the front and back contained some basic information about the exhibition, set around a signature in the manner of Basquiat’s distinctive style. Inside, the gatefold had a quote from Basquiat, “I really wanted to be the best artist in my class, but my work had a really ugly edge to it.” The poster folded out to show a colour portrait of the artist in his studio. A very fetching document.
