Igor & Svetlana Kopystiansky

From the archived Documenta 11 website : www.documenta12.de//archiv/d11/data/english/index.html

“Igor and Svetlana Kopystiansky maintain individual careers, but also collaborate regularly. Since the late 1970s, they produced short literary and photographic works that, inspired by the spirit of Fluxus and absurd theater, attempt to condense in a sentence or an image the movements of people in the streets and the overlooked objects of everyday life. Executed with restrained conceptual economy, their works are united by the principle to capture as narrative that which as reality escapes recognition.”
