Renée Green

Born, 1959 in Cleveland, Ohio, USA

From the archived Documenta 11 website : www.documenta12.de//archiv/d11/data/english/index.html

“Intermingling private and public recollections, since the early 1990s Renée Green has explored the archival capacities of film and video to retain access to memory and history. Central to Green’s archaeological enterprise is the function of story telling. By investigating culturally conditioned systems of knowledge production and storage for their capacity to record a reality, Green probes the contemporary condition of dispersal and dislocation.”
